In this project the four universities with different installation modes in waterfront areas in Fukuoka city formed a consortium of national, public, and private universities together at the master's level in order to solve environmental and energy issues thus global themes.
The Consortium aims to develop high- level environmental human resources －coping with the environment and energy issues and promotion issues of the local economy vigorously and comprehensively－looking at Asia from Fukuoka. The project also tries to promote joint research focusing on regional issues and utilizing the results actively.
Furthermore, the consortium plans to construct a database for the environment and energy in order to be widely used in the local community, conduct an open lecture, an interactive seminar co-hosting with local government bodies, and a consultation for enterprises and environmental protection organizations.
The Consortium intends to establish an integrated graduate school in the future based on these achievements.
